Last show of 2006.
Loops of cw-code (Morse code) DFM station identifications,
sweeping through shortwave and medium wave AM bands,
Recycled material from older episodes and Air Traffic Control messages from Sydney, Australia.
CW-code instruction track by unknown maker, that is around on many radio-amateur websites. Bamboo flute.
Fireworks both live sound from outside and recorded.

December 24: Broadcast Radio Birthday

Christmas evening 2006 marks the 100th birthday of broadcast radio.
This year DFM has been doing streaming internet radio for 10 years.
This week DFM made a debut in the 3D chat environment Second Life,
playing at the land of DJ Vent Rust. I edited the reporting this
adventure by Jce Emoto and Pally Nakamura to a short radio play.

December 17: Strange Charm Loops

Loops of khen and snake charmer flute, recyceled layers from
older episodes, cut-ups of message about switch to digital TV in the
Dutch aether and from the NoMusic X tournament.
Sounds from the control tower of Schiphol airport Amsterdam were coming in
over a scanner stream.

Khen, shaker, hand drum, flutes, overtone singing and mouth harp
were added live during the broadcast.

Recycling of fractal music compositions, some parts stretched with PaulStrech software.
Overtone singing and cigar box string instrument (bowed and plucked) were added live during the broadcast.

December 3: Double Tongue Icaro

and slowed down, reversed and filtered layers sequenced and mixed together.
Mouthharp, breath sounds, whistling, voice, flutes and drums were added live during the broadcast.

Another layer in the mix was a percussion and sound-effects track made with the VSTi plugin X-Wheel-of-Fortune.
Flutes and mouth harps were added live during the broadcast.

November 12: Mescalito Prayer Song

Mescalito Prayer Song

[Mescaline Molecule]

recycling an older audio fragment, sonification of a molecular visualisation of a mescaline molecule, regarded as the main active molecule in the Plant Teachers Peyote (Hikuri) and San Pedro (Achuma, Auguacolla). PaulStrech software was used to stretch out the short sonification into a larger time domain, making the sound more spectral.
An other layer in the mix was a percussion track made with the VSTi plugin X-Wheel-of-Fortune.
Shuar overtone flute and didjeridu were added live during the broadcast.

November 5: Mind the Molecules

Mind the Molecules

[Ayahuasca alkaloids] [Ayahuasca alkaloids]

Because of technical failure of my mixing console I had to mix everything in software, using an old free version of mixvibes, and recycling some older audio fragments, mainly some sonifications of molecular visualisations of molecules that play an important role in the properties of several shamanistic plants and plant combinations that are being regarded as Plant Teachers. PaulStrech was used to stretch out the short sonifications into a larger time domain, making the sounds even more spectral.
An other layer in the mix was an only slightly stretched X-Wheel-of-Fortune percussion track.

October 29: Space Elevator

Space Elevator

Mix of soundstretched layers of last weeks program recycled by speeding up, reversing and stretching the sound again, a reversed and slightly slowed down recording of an extra show I did in one of the open nightly time slots last week and radio interference from Orionid meteors, slowed down and looped and a stretched version. Another journey to outer space and back.

The other fragment, a recording of Jim Nollman playing cello with a pack of wolves was linked to in the September 2006 Interspecies newsletter by Jim Nollman. Please note: in the announcement I made a mistake, the interspecies website is interspecies.com and NOT interspecies.org.
